The Okotoks Oilers have some time off for the next few days as they enjoy a bye in the AJHL playoffs, thanks to the success of their regular season.

They are using that time to celebrate the season that was, and this past Saturday they handed out their annual player awards.

No surprise for the team's MVP award, as Jack Works earned the honour after scoring the most regular-season goals by an Oilers player in franchise history.

Works also earned the Top Goal Scorer, and Forward of the Year awards.

Other award winners included Oilers veteran goalie Brady Parker earned the Hardest Working Player award, and Dylan James being named the team's Rookie of the Year.

The team also used the opportunity to thank this year's crop of departing players, which includes some long-time Oilers.

Marc Pasemko, Ayden Roche-Setoguchi, Noah Kim, Liam Freeborn, and Eric Parker will all leave the team after this year's playoff run.
