A 4-1 win for the Okotoks Oilers as they kicked off the AJHL pre-season beating the Calgary Mustangs.

Connor Chambers popped a pair of goals for the Oilers in the win and says as one of the few returning veterans to the rookie laden squad this year, he's feeling more confident in his role as a leader.

"Last year I wasn't really sure of myself with the puck. But now this year I have more of a leadership role with the team, and that entails me jumping up in the play and being more of an impact player in the game, so puck starts going in, I'm going take it every time."

Nolan Thompson and Zach Whitby were the other Oilers goal scorers.

They host Drumheller Friday night starting at 5 o'clock at the Centennial Arena.
