Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Special Weather Statement on Sunday morning alerting us to the possibility of heavy snow over the next few days.

However, it's been upgraded to a Snowfall Warning with 10 to 15 cm of snow now expected instead of the initial 5 to 15 cm predicted.

Snow will typically melt but with the reduced temperatures expected, it will freeze and accumulate over the next 24 hours.

Visibility could be reduced at times and driving conditions are expected to fluctuate throughout the Foothills and across Southern Alberta.

Tuesday's high is expected to only reach -8.
