Better late than never for the Nanton Golf Club.

They're opening for the season Friday, about a week behind other courses in the area.

Head Pro Dave Henzie, says it's still earlier than usual.

"It's very exciting, we're opening a week to two weeks early. The course had a good winter, so it's in great shape. So, we're very excited to get going on what we hope to be a great year in 2016."

Henzie says they'll complete their three-hole practice facility this year.

But, it won't open until 2017.

They'll also build three new bridges to replace the ones destroyed in the 2014 flood.

The old bridge on the 18th hole at the Nanton Golf Club was washed away in the 2014 flood. The club will look to replace it, along with the bridge between the 11th and 12th holes.
