Highwood Mustangs running back and defensive back Callum Minor is the Big Rock Football League's Rookie of the Year.

He picked up the award at the Championship Game Friday, October 28, in Okotoks.

He says it's one he wants to share will all his teammates.

"Oh, it is. Yeah, it's them too, right? They get me the plays, it's a team sport. I help them out, they help me out."

Mustangs Coach Brian Brandford, who handed the awards out on the night was very happy to have one of players have such an outstanding season.

"He's a very, very talented young man. We're a very young team and I keep telling our guys this is a team of the future, and in a couple of years, we're going to be the one's in the championship game and dominating teams. And he's one of the big leaders of the program. He's a very talented athlete, has a big heart and is very deserving of the award."

Two Foothills Falcons players also picked up awards with Keaton Goossen getting the Commissioners Award and McKay Mullen named as the league's Top Lineman.
