For the second time in as many weeks Calgary's Ed Lukowich is a champion.

A week after winning the Alberta Seniors Curling crown in Coaldale, he won the Masters in High River with a 3-2 win over Airdrie's Lorne Goodman in Sunday's final.

Lukowich says it doesn't quite compare to winning a Brier, which he did twice, but he'll still take it.

"You know there's nothing like going to a Brier in the olds days. That's when we were young kids learning how to curl, the Brier was the thing. And it still is you know in Canada, to be able to go to a Brier, win a Brier and go to the Worlds. But, heck, we're going to take this one okay? Because we're not quite capable of winning Brier's anymore so, we'll win what we can."

Calgary's Susan Seitz won the ladies title with an 11-4 win over Heather Paul-Scott from the Inglewood Curling Club.

Seitz won Provincial Ladies titles in 1981 and 1985, along with a Seniors title in 2001.

She says taking a big lead early in the game was all the difference.

"On the third end we picked up four, and I think that was just the difference in the game. Then they had to change their game plan and try to draw. They just weren't on their game today."

Both Lukowich and Seitz head to Nova Scotia for Nationals in a couple of weeks.
