Highwood's MLA and the Mayor of High River toured the local MP around the area this week.
George Groeneveld says it was a chance to show Ted Menzies some of the area affected by last year's floods.
He says if they're going to go to the federal government for financial help it's important  the MP knows where they're coming from.
He says alot of the steps the town has taken to mitigate flood damage could be used further south.
