A local business owner helped send a Canadian Athlete to Germany to compete in the World Martial Art Competition.

Boudreau`s three Gold medal`s.

Kyle Boudreau competed in the Traditional Chinese Form event, the Karate Point Fighting event and the American Kick Boxing event.

Boudreau won gold in all three events but says that the other competitors were on point and ready.

"The competition was tough with high-level athletes and good fighters, so it was harder than most local competitions."

Boudreau says that it wouldn't have been possible without the support of his sponsors.

Especially 9 Round Okotoks owner Aaron Beck. Beck and Boudreau met when Boudreau was a trainer at another 9 Round location.

Boudreau says that he and Beck got to talking, and Beck fully supported his dream.

"He decided to sponsor me and because of that support and generosity I was able to travel to Germany and represent Canada."

He is now focusing on next year's competition which is being held in Dublin Ireland.

"Because I won gold I am eligible to go back and defend my gold medals, which I plan to do," Boudreau says.
