The ladies take centre stage Thursday night in Black Diamond at the Oilfields Curling Club as they kick off their annual bonspiel.

one change this year is the Korean Olympic Ladies Curling Team will be taking part.

Oilfields Curling Club Manager Mike Libbus says it just adds to what's an already busy weekend.

"You know what? It's a pretty exciting weekend for us. We have a record number of teams playing in our ladies bonspiel this weekend and definitely one of the feature teams that has decided to come and play for the second time, they were here four years ago, but we have a new Korean Olympic team coming to play in our ladies bonspiel, and test their skill against Canadians. So, it should be an exciting weekend."

He says they kick off the round robin Thursday night and run through to Sunday's finals.
