It was an emotional ride for the Holy Trinity Academy Knight Football team after a stinging defeat on the road they thought they should had.

The Knights fell 11-7 to the Rundle College Cobras last Friday in the Big Rock Football Conference Semi-Final ending their season.

Head Coach Matt Hassett says his team left it all out on the field and the effort was way better than their earlier loss to them in the season. He feels they got the short end of the stick with a couple of penalties that took points off the board.

"It was an entirely different ball game except for the result," he says. "We worked really hard our defensive adjustments worked really well, it was a tough game and we had a touchdown called back on a penalty that we really didn't agree with so we should have won 14-11 but those are the breaks I guess," he says.

The Knights will now be in the stands for when the Cobras face the Foothills Composite Cobras for the Big Rock Final this Friday, but Hassett looks back at his season with nothing but pride for his teaming leaving it all out on the field against the Cobras.

"We had some ups and downs for sure, but that's sports and I think football is just like life, its not if you have adversity its when and its how you handle it when you get that adversity and they handled it very well I was proud of the team."

Hassett is already counting down the days till next season and with a very young team that will only get better, the expectations couldn't be higher for the 2016 season.

"We got a great group of young guys returning, we had nine seniors so we have a great group of grade 11s and 10s coming and we're going to have a great group of kids from JPII and from grade nine coming in so its looks to be a really good year coming up."
