Yet another high honour for former Foothills Composite Falcon Trey Kellogg.

After winning an Tier II Alberta Football High School Championship and committing to the defending Vanier Cup Champion UBC Thunderbirds, he'll now suit up for his country at the World Junior Football Cup in China.

Kellogg says he'll be playing against some elite company.

"We're going to playing against seven other teams including Austria, Mexico, Japan, China, Australia and the United States," he says.

Kellogg was one of UBC's most highlighted recruits this off season and he says playing for Team Canada will only help make him better for when he shows up to training camp this fall.

"I've always looked up at those Team Canada teams and always dreamed about playing at that. So when Paul Orazietti one of my coaches at UBC, he's coaching running backs for this team. He emailed me and told me there was an opportunity for me to play and I was just ecstatic and I couldn't wait to play and I almost wasn't able to because I was finishing exams."

The 18 year old says he won't be going into China by himself as he'll be playing alongside former teammates and friends at the tournament.

"There's two people J Min Pelley he's defensive lineman as well as Bowan Lewis he's a safety and he goes to the University of Saskatchewan now."

Currently Team Canada is 1-1 at the World's beating Mexico 30-16 but falling the United States 32-14 on Sunday but advanced to the semi finals where they will face Mexico in a rematch on Thursday.
