The golf season is coming early to the Foothills this year, with a couple of courses already open, and more opening in the next week.

Heritage Pointe in De Winton will open up on Friday April 8th.

Head Pro, Steve Richardson, says this is the earliest they have ever opened, and despite the bumpy economy, the golf club will have a great crew of employees this year.

"There is a plus side to the down turn in the economy, we have a lot of really qualified people knocking on our door looking for work. We can deliver a high quality of service this year because if that", he says.

Richardson says he's not expecting a real change in the number of rounds they'll see this year because people are really excited to tee off this season. However, the golf club has changed some of their rates and shuffled a few tournaments to keep pace with economic reality.
