This year's High River District Health Care Foundations' Clifford & Louise Lougheed Award has its winner.

The award is usually given at their annual gala event however due to COVID the event has been cancelled and the award has been passed out in a much smaller way.

Winner of this year's award, Blair and Bev Gordon, Owners of Century 21 in High River, received the honours from Michael Brown, the Foundations Executive Director.

The winner of the award is recognized for "contributions by an individual or organization in support of the Foundation and health care in our communities."

Blair Gordon says these awards do mean a lot to not only himself but also the entire team at Century 21.

"Its a huge award and recognition is always nice but it's more awareness for the communities in the Foothills area and its an award for all of our realtor and associates that work in the company because we're all working different avenues with different charities and different causes and it all comes together at one point and it did with the foundation over the years. It's special to get recognized."

The High River District Health Care Foundation released a statement regarding the award given out every year.

"This award was named in honour of Clifford and Louise Lougheed who were long-time residents of the Nanton area. Their bequest to the Foundation enabled us to establish a permanent Endowment Fund which is the backbone of our long-term financial viability. So it is in the spirit of Clifford and Louise’s generosity, that we present our award in their name every year."
