Some good news for former Okotoks Dawgs Pitcher Jim Henderson, as he found a spot with the New York Mets coming out of spring training.

Dawgs Managing Director John Ircandia says after spending the last two season recovering from shoulder surgery, Henderson has really bounced back since signing with the Mets.

"He's looked really good. I mean for this time of spring, for him, and how he develops, he's throwing very hard. Usually he picks up in the high 90's by the time the summer comes along. So 95 (M.P.H) in April's pretty good."

Ircandia says Henderson's not worried about being the "go to" guy in the Mets bullpen like he was with the Brewers.

"Jimmy has no ego about this. He just wants to be there, and he's a competitor. He wants his team to win. Whether he's in the 7th, 8th or 9th inning doesn't really matter to him. I think he'll get a chance before this season is out to close. That's my own view."

Henderson, had a 1.80 E.R.A in spring training, in 10 appearances for the Mets.
