At approximately 5:30 a.m. yesterday (April 3) the Tsuut'ina Fire Department responded to a grass fire near Range Road 40 and Township Road 241 in Rocky View County.

While they were putting out the fire, personnel found human remains.

Both the Cochrane RCMP and the Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service attended to the scene and the Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit were subsequently deployed to take carriage of the investigation.

An autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary on April 4, and police are treating the death as a homicide.
