It's a great week for students to be off school, as we're expecting clear skies and double-digit temperatures for the next few days.

The plus temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend.

Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada Sara Hoffman says this chinook won't include the typical southwest winds.

"This is more of a broad upper pattern shift from what we've been experiencing for the last while. The warm air is pushing in across the entirety of the province... and the entirety of the prairies gets to enjoy the heat this time."

Even though Environment Canada is expecting back to back days of +10 temperatures, Hoffman says Foothills residents should hold off packing up their winter clothes.

"Get out there and enjoy it, but don't assume this is spring coming early. That cold air outbreak could still happen well into March."

While the weekend forecast looks bright, Hoffman says next week's forecast is still a little murky.

"It's a little bit tough to say what the end of next week looks like. These warmer than normal conditions could push into early next week, or we could return to normal with a few flurries by the end of next week."
