The High River Brewing Co. Flyers are 'this close' to making the HJHL playoffs.

Currently, they're three points back of the final playoff spot in the south division, however, they have two games in hand over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings.

The Flyers have a pair of games lined up this weekend as do the Wheatland Kings. Up first for the Flyers are the Coaldale Copperheads when they pay a visit to the Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex tonight, (Feb. 9) and then they head to Cochrane on Saturday night to battle the Generals.

After this weekend the Flyers only have three games remaining in the regular season.

Meanwhile, in Okotoks, the Carstar Okotoks Bisons have a potential playoff matchup coming up this weekend. They have no concerns about making the playoffs as they are the top team in the league with a 31-and-3 record and 62 points.

The Herd takes on the Cubs in Medicine Hat on Friday night. The Cubs are sitting in second place in the south division but the real test for the Bisons is Saturday night when they welcome the Sylvan Lake Wranglers to the Murray arena for a late start time of 8:30.

The Wranglers are in first place in the north division with 60 points, just two points back of the Bisons. The Bisons will only have two games left in the regular season after this weekend.
