The Calgary Flames look to pick up their first win of the NHL pre-season Thursday night as they're on the road in Colorado to face the Avalanche.

The Flames dropped both games of a split squad match-up against the Edmonton Oilers Monday night.

But the loss could be more than just on the scoreboard, as a shot in the hand will leave the Flames without defenceman T.J. Brodie for the next three to six weeks as he broke a bone in his hand.

The Flames are back home Friday night to battle the Vancouver Canucks.
