The Flyers started the weekend Friday night at home with a 6-4 loss to Strathmore.

The Wheatland Kings made it two in a row with a 5-3 win over Ponoka Saturday, but they couldn't make it three straight as they fell 8-5 to Blackfalds Sunday.

The Okotoks Bisons split their games, beating Medicine Hat 5-1 Friday night at home, but losing 3-0 in Cochrane to the Generals on Saturday.

And the "AAA" Strathmore Midget Bisons won both their games as they opened the Alberta Midget Hockey League season.

They edged the Calgary Royals 2-1 Friday and then got the sweep Sunday handing the Medicine Hat Tigers a 6-2 loss.
