The Okotoks Dawgs will look for their third straight win tonight at home verses the Regina Red Sox Friday Night.

The Dawgs took the opener of the mini two game series 8-2 Thursday night.

Part of the Dawgs' success was Alex Gudac leading the way going three for five with two stolen bases.

Dawgs Manager Brett Thomas says with the base stealing abilities of his team, and their aggressive approach on the base paths, it gives them another way to get on the score sheet.

"As long as we're aggressive, more often than not we're going to be making the right plays and forcing them to play fast catch."

After notching eight runs on twelve hits last night, Thomas says they can only improve on a solid outing.

"We can always get better," he says. "That's a good team, they've been playing well as of late, so we're looking forward to just being as good as we can be and not worrying so much on who we're playing."

The Dawgs will send Trevor Swaney to the mound Friday night, hoping to to follow Dylan Nelson's superb performance last night.

Thomas says with Swaney's arsenal of pitches and the way the Dawgs have been playing the field, it could lead to a solid defensive outing.

"Just competes down in the zone with his sinker," Thomas says. "Just pounds the ground, we've got such a good defense on infield that he really does a great job, we know what we're going to get from him and hopefully we can swing it again like we did tonight."

The Dawgs go into tonight five and half games back of Lethbridge for first in the WMBL's Alberta Division while up four and a half games on Medicine Hat for second in the division.

First pitch tonight goes at 7:05 at Seaman Stadium.
