Despite a heck of a season for the Willow Creek Cobras, the mood is a little different for them compared to the Foothills Falcons coming back to school this week, after dropping their second straight Tier IV football final 30-21 to the Ardrossan Bisons.

Coach Tim Bryson says it's always tough to get over that final hurdle to claim the title.

"It is, the margin of error is so slim at this time of year. I feel like last year we were evenly matched with Holy Rosary and this year we were evenly matched with Ardrossan. It's just a matter of playing a really clean game. Field position matters, turnover matter. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes is going to come out on top."

Bryson says he's excited about the future of the team as they had a fair number of grade 10 and 11 kids on the squad who gained plenty of experience over the season.

He feels another trip to the finals next year is not out of the question.
