Alberta's post-secondary institutions have been announcing their COVID measures for the upcoming fall semester in the last few weeks, and Bow Valley College recently followed suit.

The province will be allowing school authorities to implement their own COVID measures as they see fit, and many are taking Alberta's rising cases into account when planning the new semester.

Bow Valley College, which has six campuses across the province including in Okotoks and High River, is implementing measures similar to others in the province.

Vaccines will be encouraged but not required for staff and students.

They won't be requiring rapid tests from those who are unvaccinated, a measure that will be implemented at the universities of Calgary, Alberta, and Lethbridge.

Masks will be required while indoors on their campuses, effective today (Aug. 19).
