The Calgary Stampeders are in High River Saturday, May 28 for a Junior Camp.

Stamps Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell says it's for the rookies, which is a great way to introduce them to the community.

"All the rookies go down, it's their first taste of meeting the fans and getting to do something as a member of the Calgary Stampeders, so it's a good deal for them."

mitchell says getting out into smaller communities around calgary is very important to the team.

"Whether you're two hours away, four hours away, we still want you to come to games and if not, we still want you to be a fan and watch it on TV. So, it's our job to get out there in the community and spread the love wherever we can."

The camp, which includes players, Coach Dave Dickenson, President and General Manager John Hufnagel, Ralph the Dog and the Outriders Cheerleaders runs Saturday from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at Highwood High School.

The day will have the players running the kids through some drills and then wrap up with an autograph session.

If you have a child who is a minor football player between the ages of 7-13, they are eligible to register for the event.

The registration fee is only $10 and includes admission and a Junior Stamps Camp t-shirt.

The event fees help raise funds for amateur football and awareness for KidSport, an organization dedicated to ensuring all youngsters are able to break through financial barriers and participate in organized sports.

You can sign your kids up "HERE."

All registration forms can be mailed to highwood@fsd38.ab.ca
