The accolades continue to add up for High River's Conner Bleackley, for the third time in his junior career he's been selected to the Canada/Russia Series as a member of team WHL.

Bleackley, 19 was a 1st round pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft 23rd overall of the Colorado Avalanche and recently finished a stint with the NHL club during the pre-season before being re-assigned to the Red Deer Rebels.

Bleackley says he's looking forward to the opportunity to play with the Western Hockey League's best skaters and give members of Team Canada of what he can do.

"This year I have a really good shot at the World Juniors, so those super series games is a the first chance to get to see top guys of each league play for a spot on the World Junior team and that is a goal of mine so really looking forward to the opportunity."

In past experiences at the Super Series Bleakley says the Russians will be tough to deal with.

"They're always an opportunistic team, I think in the three games I have played they don't necessary dictate the game but they kind of wait back and once they get their chances they usually capitalize so its going to be a great two games and should be a real good test for us."

The Russians will face the WHL, OHL and QMJHL all-stars in a series of six games, with two against each league. Bleackley will lace up for the WHL all-stars on November 9th in Kelowna and November 10th in Kamloops.
