The HJHL was busy over the weekend as teams start to jostle for the playoffs.

Due to the extreme cold however, the Carstar Okotoks Bisons were only able to get in one of their two scheduled games.

They took Friday night off as the Medicine Hat Cubs were unable to make it up to the Murray arena.

But the Herd picked up two points with a road trip to Strathmore on Saturday as they downed the Wheatland Kings 4-2.  Brayden Kapty picked up a goal and added two assists in the win.

Over in High River, the High River Brewing Co. Flyers had the hometown crowd in their hands on Friday with a 2-1 win over the Wheatland Kings.  However, they were unable to replicate their success on Saturday night in Medicine Hat.  The Cubs padded their stats with a 7-1 win.

Both local clubs now rest until this weekend as the playoff race heats up with only a handful of games left in the season.
