Hospital visitors have the opportunity to swap out their parking tickets with toys.

Alberta Health Services is accepting new unwrapped toys as an alternative for paying for parking citations written from Nov. 1- Nov. 30.

Toys must be new and unwrapped with a minimum value of $25.

Items will be dispersed to children and their families throughout the Calgary zone and to local charities.

Toys can be for newborns up to youth aged 17-years-old.

recommended items are books, art supplies, science kits, electronics and headphones, Lego sets, rattles, baby toys, journals and activity books, crayons, and gift cards for grocery stores and restaurants.

Last year the toys for tickets campaign collected over 200 toys.

Donations are being accepted until Dec. 13 at any AHS parking office.
