A couple of Okotoks Oilers are heading to college south of the border.

20 year old forward Matt McNair is heading to Adrian College to play for the Bulldogs next year in Michigan.

His teammate, 21 year old defenceman Connor Chambers is heading to another Division III school, at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

Mcnair was the Oilers leading scorer last season with 34 goals and 59 points.

A release from the league says:

As an Okotoks Oiler, McNair has played 154 regular season games where he scored 52 goals and 49 assists for a AJHL career total of 98 regular season points.

Rounding out the stats, McNair collected an additional 11 points in 20 playoff games.

During his three seasons as an Oiler, McNair showed tremendous improvement.

Known for his outstanding speed and consistent offensive skills, one of this past season’s assistant captains, McNair leaves the Oilers with the skills needed to continue his progress and to be successful in his collegiate career.
