100 Women Who Care Foothills delivered their final donation of the year on Friday afternoon.

Each member contributes $100 every quarter of the year, which is given to a local non-profit, in this case, Pound Rescue.

Non-profits are nominated by members at their quarterly meetings, after which all the members decide which one will be the recipient of their next donation.

Julie Boake, Head of 100 Women Who Care Foothills says Pound Rescue stuck out as an organization in immediate need.

"Pound Rescue just happened to be in such an immediate need for funding right now. I think that's part of what helped the women decide that. At this time, in order to keep this community organization going, they need our funds right now."

All in all, 100 Women Who Care donated $5600 to the non-profit.

Boake says she feels the group is needed now more than ever.

"Having seen Literacy for Life close down, the need for 100 Women Who Care to be able to contribute to these organizations to keep them going is huge."

"They've got a lot of vet bills they need to help to cover right now, in order to keep their doors open, and providing supplies for an influx of animals. We're helping them keep their doors open a little longer and cover some of those spots that they just don't have the money for. So in this scenario, it was a simple operational boost."

The group will meet again in February, to decide on the recipient of their next donation.
