Golfers at the Turner Valley Golf Club this year have an extra hazard to worry about.

A young black bear.

Course G.M., J.D. Scheller says it looks like a one to two year old cub has decided to call the course home this spring.

"We have one small one that really likes the facility. It showed up last fall and ate all the apples off our trees. Apparently woke up this Spring and still likes the golf course. He actually tried to play the ninth hole on Sunday."

He says it's not uncommon to see bears on the course.

"Probably a few times a year. I mean, one will hang around most of the year. A few years ago we actually had a grizzly hanging out on our 14th hole for a while."

The club posted a video of the bear chewing on the flag on the ninth green.

Scheller says the bear hasn't posed a danger to anyone yet, as it's still pretty small, but golfers are giving it a wide berth in hopes it'll move on to greener pastures shortly.
