High River's Mayor says work is continuing behind the scenes on three big flood mitigation projects.

Craig Snodgrass says his main priority remains the southwest berm at the west end of 12 Avenue.

"We'll keep pounding the table in that direction to get that one done, but at the same time we're loud and clear in Edmonton that we need the Centre Street bridge and the Wallaceville overflow project done," he says.

He says, right now, land negotiations are continuing between the Province and landowners before the public consultation process can begin on the berm.

"It's a massive project and we're trying to work through the landowner concerns before it goes public so we can be ahead of things, so we know a little bit more when it all goes to public consultation," Mayor Snodgrass says.

He's hoping to hear something regarding the other projects in Thursday's budget.
