The Highwood riding's Alberta Party Candidate, Joel Windsor, wants to meet with local farmers.

He's hosting a "Wings and Agriculture" night Monday, March 21 at the 1906 Restaurant in High River.

Windsor says he knows Bill 6 is still big in the world of farming, but there's other issues he's been hearing about too.

"The main thing that I hear is that Bill 6 of course. A lot of farmers are concerned about the erosion of agricultural land we well. if not the farmers, the people who do live in the rural areas. They are quite concerned about the erosion of agricultural land by municipalities and such."

He says while the Highwood riding is made up mostly of High River and Okotoks, he can't forget the importance of farmers, ranchers and other land owners in and around the riding.

"When I was on the campaign trail, that was one of the big things I did see was lacking was conversation about everywhere in between and around High River and Okotoks. High Rivers main economy is based off that Agri-Business, the value added stuff as well. But, we sometimes forget that. That all of these farmers is what helps make our community as well."

The event starts at 7:30 P.M.
