What was supposed to be a routine traffic stop, ended in a drug investigation and seizure on Monday, July 10th after a tip was phoned into police regarding a suspicious vehicle.

A member of the Turner Valley RCMP first pulled the vehicle over and  after noticing signs of drug activity, the Okotoks General Investigation Section became involved, and proceeded in a drug investigation.

Upon further investigation RCMP members found and seized a variety of drugs and cash from two adult individuals, who were later arrested and charged.

Police ended up removing 4.4 g of cocaine, 7.36 g of hash, 134 g of raw marijuana, and 164 g of baked marijuana. 

There was also 18 g of shatter, 160 blots of acid, 2 ml of liquid acid, 16.77 g of MDMA, 44 pills of MDMA, and 2 more vials of MDMA powder. 

$2,980 was also discovered at the scene.

Shawn Nobert, age 25, and Sarah Warne, age 22, of Calgary have each been charged with five counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one count of Proceeds of Crime.

Norbert and Warne appear in Okotoks Provincial Court today.
