The outdoor watering ban which was put in place July 28 has been relaxed.

The Town of Okotoks has announced the ban has been reduced to a water restriction, allowing outdoor water use one day per week.

Effective Aug. 8 even numbered addresses will be permitted to water on Tuesdays, odd numbers will be permitted to water on Thursdays.

Watering must take place from 6-8 a.m., or 7-9 p.m.

The town has been working closely with EPCOR monitoring the situation, and recent reports indicate water demand has dropped, and maintained sustainable levels since the ban was implemented.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to only water once per day, as another increase above sustainable levels may result in anohter water ban.
