The basic guidelines have been set for election day later this fall in Okotoks.

The Town approved their by-laws for the upcoming Civic Election.

If you're interested in running for councillor the cost to run has changed from the 2013 nomination rate of $100 to now $250.

Those running for the Mayor's seat will have the same rate as the 2013 election where nomination papers costed $500.

Also seeing no change is the amount of time to vote which will see polls open at 6 a.m. and remain open till 8 p.m.

All Municipal Elections are on October 16, 2017.
