It's time to make sure your recreational vehicles have been moved out of your front yards and driveways.

The Town of High River wants to remind residents that from October 30 to April 1 no one can keep an R.V. in front of their house.

Patrick Webb, the Special Advisor to Community Services, says there are different ways to make people comply.

"What we're looking for essentially is education and cooperation, but if necessary we would write a ticket."

Webb, says the Town passed this bylaw several years ago, all so RV's don't become a year-long eye-sore or interfere with snow clearing.

"If we get a complaint from neighbours, we'll go to the owner and explain it to the person. But sometimes our by-law officers will actually notice it parked and just go up to the house and tell them about it."

Webb, notes the bylaw includes trailers as well.

"All trailers, whether they're R.V. trailers, recreational or cargo trailers, they have to be hitched to a vehicle when they're parked on the roads. Otherwise they're illegal and those too are subject to towing or a fine. We want people to realize, just because it's not an R.V. trailer, they shouldn't have those unhitched if they're on the road in front of their homes."

If you haven't moved your R.V. or trailer, you Webb says  you could get a warning, or a ticket depending on your willingness to comply.
