You know who your friends are when they give you their kidney.

High River resident Linda Sojer donated one of her healthy kidneys to her friend and High River Author Karon Argue in June of 2015.

"When you're a Mom I couldn't imagine not being there for a wedding or a graduation or the first birth of a child, I think that's the direction my decision went."

She says after her friend told her she was on the waiting list for a kidney the decision to offer one of hers was an easy one.

She says with the support of her husband and family she started the long process of testing.

She says Doctors were surprised that she wasn't family because she was a perfect match in literally every test that needed to be done.

She says healing didn't take long and they're both in perfect health today.

"If you're in the right frame of mind you heal much quicker. You need to be in the right frame of mind to know that you're doing this for the right reasons, and that you're strong enough to do something like this."

She says donating her kidney was just the right thing to do and hopes their story inspires others to donate.
