The 6th Annual Natural High Triathlon took place on Saturday.

The event was a success with participants running, biking and swimming through the Crystal Shores area in Okotoks.

Event organizer Andrew Gustafson says that the day was great and went off amazingly.

"It went smoothly, with beautiful weather, a lot of participants and smiling faces."

After all of the participants were in from their run, kids under the age of six took part of the fun run.

"We give them a little taste of it with the fun run by getting to go across the finish line, they get their Gatorade and metal and hopefully that means that when they are old enough they can try the entire thing," Gustafson says.

Gustafson adds that is also is a good way to encourage kids to stay active.

Continuing talking about those that he would like to thank for the event.

He believes that thanking the sponsors is always a given because of what they give to make the event happen, but the volunteers are also a major part.

Gustafson wants to thank the 95 volunteers who helped out.

"They were doing everything from traffic management to registration, helping the little kids in the water, lifeguards, 95 people gave up their mornings to come and help us out make a donation to kids sport."

All proceeds raised by the event will go towards the local Kids Sport.
