Plenty of young entrepreneurs smile and laugh as they participated in the 4th annual Lemonade Day in Okotoks.

Participants had to apply for a special Town of Okotoks Business License in order to operate their stands. While doing so, they learned some business basics.

Anouk and Luke operated a stand called Lemonade and More, the two mini-entrepreneurs won 1st place for their lemonade.

Anouk and Luke say they learned how to do some really good research!

"Well we researched different types of lemonade online." The recipe they found was even tested before production. "We personally love watermelon and we tried it and it tasted great so we used it."

The proceeds from the red ribbon lemonade stand will go to Pound Rescue in Okotoks, a cause that is near and dear to the pair's hearts.

"One third of our money will be going to Pound Rescue because that's where we got most of our pets, and we love animals so we thought it was really important to support the local rescue."

Another fan favourite, Juicy Empire, was quite successful and that should make the Okotoks Food Bank happy.

The sibling trio Grady, Hayden and Kayla Van Aalst say the key to success in business is creativity.

"We have unique flavours, I think it's the smart names that we came up like 'Yoda Soda', 'Vader-ade', and 'Juicy Empire.'"

Their lemonade 'Yoda Soda' was a green lime flavored sweet and tangy drink that Star Wars fans everywhere loved.

Many kids learned a lot about customer service, marketing and selling product.

Skills that very well might come in handy as the mini-entrepreneurs grow up.
