The names of those in the running for roles with local school divisions in next month's civic elections are in.

For the Foothills School Division there's just one ward where the lone candidate has been acclaimed, that being Ward 3 with Theresa Latendre.

That's the ward where former board chair Christine Pretty held the seat.

Ten people have let their names stand for the two trustees positions in Okotoks.

They are: Wayne Meihle, Corrine Babb, Mary Daunt, Larry Albrecht, Sharon Nicols, Cindy Krebs, Jerry Clark, Claire Contois, and Laurie Copland.

The two with the highest votes will be elected and they'll split responsibilities, each taking a half of the town.

In Ward 1 Jeanine Tucker is up against Heather Pfeil.

For Ward 2 there are six candidates; Yvonne Sherman, Toby Kliem, Bill Young, Martha Klassen, Vivienne Nicol and Jamie Chouchan.

In Ward 5 for High River the incumbent Doug Gardner is being challenged by Jennifer Kristianson and Rob Bennington.

Local trustees in Christ The Redeemer School Division will be back after being acclaimed on Monday.

Among the returnees is Joanne Van Donzel in High River, Ron Schreiber in Okotoks who's the current board chair, Harry Salm in Strathmore, and Andrea Keenan in the MD of Foothills.

There'll be one election for CTR in Drumheller.
