Despite rolling into the ditch near Gladys Ridge, nearly 1200 litres of fuel has been contained after a tanker truck accident  Thursday morning.

The truck hauling diesel and gasoline was travelling westbound on Highway 547 near the Gladys Union Cemetery.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the driver is walking away with non-threatening injuries.

The highway has been closed for the majority of the day while environmental services contain the accident site.

The road should be open by the evening, in the meantime traffic has been detoured in both directions.
