A human face will be put on the emotional issue of medically assisted dying at a meeting in High River next week.

Henry Friesen says Evie  Wallace will be speaking about her personal experience of her husband's  medically assisted death.

"They went through the procedure, the legal requirements, getting it lined up in terms of the medical team to come and do this, because he's the first one to have it done in Alberta," Friesen says. "He was diagnosed with MS, Multiple Sclerosis, another complication came in and eventually the cancer came in as well and so he said, 'enough is enough'.

Friesen says the presentation isn't aimed at convincing people to change their minds one way or another but to present a human face on the issue and simply tell of her, and her husband's, experiences..

The talk will be held Wednesday, February 1 at the United Church at 7 p.m.
