The Sheep River Health Trust and Eagle 100.9 will once again be joining forces for their annual Together We Make A Difference Radiothon.

The event is looking for applications from organizations to support with the funds raised from this years event.

Last year the Radiothon raised a total of $37,892.75 and was able to support the Rowan House's Healing Minds, Body and Spirits program, KidSport's 10-10-10 program, the Sheep River Health Trust's School Meal Program, and purchase a carbon monoxide monitor for Okotoks Urgent Care.

Tanya Thorn, representative with the SRHT, says any group who benefits children and families is encouraged to apply for this year's event.

"If you've got an initiative that's helping children, youth, and families that's health and wellness related, whether it's a development initiative or helping moms and babies, all of those things that create healthy kids and healthy families, we're interested in having you apply," Thorn says.

Thorn says money raised from the event will stay in the Foothills.

"Our community is very giving and the key part for me out of all this that I love is that the dollars stay here," she says. "They're supporting programs our kids and families in this region are accessing."

The deadline to submit an application is Mar. 9 with the Radiothon on Apr. 21.
