Support has been pouring in for the family of Okotoks resident Tara Roe, who was killed on Sunday at the Las Vegas Shooting.

Roe, 34, was a wife and mother of two, she worked as an Educational Assistant with the Foothills School Division.

Flags at FSD schools are being flown at half staff today in honour of Roe.

Foothills School Division Superintendent John Bailey says his thoughts are with the family and friends of those affected by the attack.

He says FSD is pulling together to support one another in this difficult time.

"It has been a challenging time for our Division yet we continue to stand together and support one another. We have put our crisis response team in place and they will remain as long as is needed to assist students and staff."

Bailey understands families may have some struggles with explaining the situation to their children, he encourages parents and guardians to visit these resources from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.

He asks parents who have any concerns regarding school supports to contact their local school principal.

It's not just the Foothills School Division sending support and condolences to Roe's family, a Go Fund Me Page set up yesterday for her husband and children has raised over $100,000 already.
