An Okotoks studio is taking a different spin on the traditional scavenger hunt.

Studio Me is looking for teams to sign up for their Scavenger Scurry where clues will take them to different tasks that will benefit the community.

The day will kick off on Sept. 2 at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at Studio Me where teams will receive their first clue which will take them to their first task. The task is considered done once it's been completed and a photo of it has been posted to Instagram with the chosen hashtag. Once it's been approved teams will then move on to the next event with the idea being quality over speed. To end the event a wrap-up celebration will take place at a local restaurant where prizes will be given out to the participating teams.

Jody Swift, organizer, says the event is a continuous circle of giving.

"All of the businesses part of the scavenger hunt get to benefit then on top of it the charity we're giving the money to, the Self High Five Charity, is now benefiting other people in helping themselves and all it can do is create this reciprocity in our community that's really high vibrational."

Tasks are being worked out to be completed with not for profit groups like the Foothills Country Hospice, Okotoks Food Bank, and FCSS to name a few. Swift says examples of tasks for individuals would be someone who's injured and needs a lawn mowed, windows washed, or garage cleared.

Swift explains the event is more fulfilling than the typical scavenger hunt.

"This isn't a scavenger hunt where you get to problem solve puzzles with your head. This is kinesthetic, you're going to be moving, you're going to be working, and at the end of the day I want you to walk out feeling great that you contributed in a big way to this community."

Twenty teams of four people each are needed for the event.

Registration is $25 per person.
