Street sweepers continue to spruce up the streets of Okotoks this spring.

As of today, work was scheduled to start in the communities of Sandstone and Mountainview.

As always, the town is reminding residents to remove any vehicles or obstacles such as gutter ramps, mats and nets from the streets so crews can make a clean sweep of roads in those neighbourhoods.

While waste collection won't be affected by street cleaning operations, the town is also asking that bins be removed from streets by 10 p.m. on collection days.

If an area happens to be missed, residents can call transportation at (403) 938-8952 to have it documented and so that crews can return after the initial efforts have been completed.

The town budgets about $200,000 for its annual street cleaning efforts for labour, equipment and assistance from contractors.
