A Strathmore resident is facing child pornography charges.

Strathmore RCMP along with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit, and National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre started their investigation in August 2016 when they were informed of child porn being shared via social media.

RCMP say on Tuesday they arrested 18-year-old Marvin Agboro.

He's facing charges of accessing and possessing child pornography and making child pornography available.

Agboro was released on recognizance and has numerous strict conditions he's required to meet that are assigned by a Justice of the Peace.

He's set to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on May 16.

Police are asking anyone with information on this investigation or any child exploitation offence to contact their local police or go to cybertip.ca.
