It looks like spring has arrived in Okotoks and it's here to stay.

Locals made it down to the Sheep River Friday afternoon to bask in the sun and dip their feet into the cold river.

Ninna Sherwood a Vancouver Resident visiting her family says, "I've come down with my granddaughters and we are going to the pool but we thought we'd come down here to see what the water is like...it's cold but they've both taken their shoes off to go in so it's spring in Okotoks, I think this is great."

Okotoks Resident Sandy Handford says they try to go down to the river quite a bit, "We come quite often....the river is beautiful, kind of low this year but we came down for a picnic and we came down to go to the park to hang out with our granddaughter."

Sherwood says, "It's such a beautiful spot here by the river, it's one of our favourite spots to come, we always have to come down for a picnic."

So if you are looking for something to do this warm, sunny weekend get outside for a stroll in the park, a dip in the sheep river, a bike ride around town or even a walk downtown to the Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop.
