Money Canadian

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation has crunched the numbers and come out with the final costs of what the promises made in this election campaign will actually cost.

CTF Federal Director Aaron Wudrick says there's a lot of distinction between the costs of each of the three main party's promises.

"The Liberals are going to spend the most right out of the gate, and then sort of keep it steady at around $10 billion a year. The New Democrats, a little more modest the first year at $5.7 billion , but then up to $16 billion a year by the end of a first term in office. The Conservatives, much more modest by comparison at only about $250 million the first year, and not even $1 billion by the end of one more term."

Wudrick says uncosted promises could add a lot more to those numbers as well.

Wudrick says he's disappointed none of the parties proposed a way to pay down Canada's $612 billion debt.
