A little over $12,000 made it's way to 18 community groups Monday, December 4, thanks to the River City Classics Car Club and their annual Show and Shine.

Al Millard with the Call of the West Museum says it never hurts to have a couple of extra bucks.

"No it never does. It's nice, the car club supports us. We give them a little bit of space here to play and they return in ten-fold."

One of those happy to get some money was Michael Brown with the High River and District Health Care Foundation.

"Every summer that Show and Shine is an amazing thing for our community. And their generosity supporting, not only the hospital, but all these charities here in town is absolutely amazing. So, we're very appreciative."

The Salvation Army actually received a pair of donations for the Food Bank and the Christmas Families and Hampers program.

Captain Chad Cole says since coming to town in July he's been amazed at the generosity he's seen.

"We're just getting out feet wet and staying afloat, but it seems like we couldn't ask for a better first posting. The support that the community offers us is just phenomenal. Everywhere we turn, there's people looking to support us in every effort we want to do."

The Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society, lunch programs at Joe Clark, Spitzee and Holy Spirit Academy Schools, the Children's Wish Foundation, the Museum of the Highwood, the Rotary and Lions Clubs, the High River United Church, Narrow Road Home, the Handi-Bus Society, Rowan House, Foothills Country Hospice, Foothills Minor Hockey, Eamon's Garage Project, and Highwood High School all received donations from the car club.
