The Sheep River Health Trust has received a generous gift.

On Friday Okotoks Ford Lincoln presented the organization with a cheque for $5,000.

Andrew Gustofson, Sheep River Health Trust board member, says community support is important.

"There's a humongous need of health and wellness in our community for a broad demographic and the Health Trust touches on all of that," he says. "We can't do that without community partners like Okotoks Ford so we really appreciate them coming on board for the next three years to help us serve this community."

Gustofson says a lot of work is put into deciding how funds are allocated through a screening and tracking committee that looks at applications from community members.

Rick Cherrington, general manager of Okotoks Ford Lincoln, says it's great to work with the organization.

"We're proud to partner up with the Sheep River Health Trust. We've been a supporter for a long time and we're pleased to be a Health Care Champion."

The Annual Sheep River Health Trust's Together We Make a Difference Radiothon takes places on Apr. 21.
